Camp Activities
Technology and Career Talks:
The students will hear from a variety of scientists and engineers who will talk about their work, why they chose this profession and how they find it rewarding.
Job Shadowing:
The students will participate in everyday activities of working men and women in STEM. STEM professionals will spend time with small groups of students showing them what their daily life is like.
Team Projects:
Working in teams will offer a memorable experience and allow students to gain technical skills while doing hands-on projects with their peers.
Tours:
Students will tour the National Lab site facilities that show the latest technologies being developed. Arrangements are also being made to do college campus tours and a visit to a local Observatory.
Evening Activities:
Summer camp includes fun time to experience science and engineering in a relaxed environment. These activities provide time to make new friends and bond with other high school students as well as with scientists and engineers.
Professional Growth and Leadership:
The students will acquire skills necessary to enter and stay in STEM fields, as well as learn tools that help with developing confidence and effective communication.
